You don’t usually notice that you are hoarding stuff until you start to declutter. It’s not always a conscious decision. Decluttering can become an effective way to practice self-care because it enhances your overall well-being, it lets you take control of your home, your life, and your "stuff". Here are a few ways your life can improve:
1- Letting go of the past
Decluttering our homes helps us move on from the past and let go of it, process past relationships, friendships, heartbreaks, old jobs, and ideas that didn't work. Sure, there's obviously nothing wrong with a bit of sentimentality, however, hanging on to something will hold us back.
2- Decluttering = Donating = Good karma
Much of our homes are packed with items that are really useful yet we have no use for ourselves. For some positive karma points, you can easily donate clothing, cookware, equipment, and toys to charities. Developing the donation habit not only improves your life but will also improve the lives of our fellow members of society. Our hearts grow with pride and appreciation as we contribute to worthy community organizations.
3- Save money and time
It’s something that everyone wants: make money out of thin air. If your stuff can’t be donated, you can always sell them. When you're willing to sell online or just to a friend, decluttering can be a cash cow. Somehow, when there are a few bucks to be made, cleaning closets does not seem so daunting. You will also save money on the storage space, and your area will be relatively clean and tidy. Now, fewer things mean more time to enjoy life and less time to dig through closets, drawers, and garages.
There are many different ways decluttering can help improve your life, but these were the most obvious ones. For more information, you can check: ww.betterlifeorganization.co
